The St. George hotel was recently refurbished for student living. Long-term rates range from $540 – $725 per month per person, plus a $100 application fee. Renters choosing the long-term option must at least stay for four months.

Short term rates are $280 per person per week plus a $25 application fee.* Rooms have air conditioning, cable TV and a refrigerator. There is a community kitchen and dining area within the hotel. Generally more rooms are available in the colder months, but reservations can be made for any time. It is advisable to make them as early as possible. The St. George is located in Brooklyn Heights, a neighborhood full of friendly cafes, boutiques, bookstores, and cultural activities and also a short subway ride from Manhattan. The hotel is open all year round but it houses students only. *If rooms are not available for the dates you request, your application fee will be returned.

Back to school

Ladies and gents, I have returned. There is much to be done between now and mid-December.

Classes will end.
Two papers to write.
One Final to pass.
Two portfolios to compile/complete.
Four books to read.
At least 30 poems to comment upon.
Marriage Equality Week details to nail down.
Bills to pay.
Textbooks to order.
Club meetings to attend.

Also, here’s my final class schedule for next semester. I thought about changing it around, but I don’t really want to. I didn’t get into one of the classes I originally wanted, but it’s not a huge loss since (1) I’m taking another class with the same professor and (2) now I can, without bias, ask the professor and the class to participate in Marriage Equality Week. (The class was Eng160, Courtship to Hook-up, in case you were wondering.)

Mondays
11:00 – 12:20 Progressive Era Debates (His420)

Tuesdays
09:00 – 10:20 Renaissance Lit. (Eng202)
12:00 – 01:20 History Workshop (His360)
01:30 – 04:20 18th Century Women’s Lit. (Eng464)

Wednesdays
11:00 – 12:20 Progressive Era Debates (His420)

Thursdays
09:00 – 10:20 Renaissance Lit. (Eng202)
12:00 – 01:20 History Workshop (His360)

Fridays
Zip (free all day, at least when it comes to classes)

And yes, thank you for pointing that out; I already know Tuesdays are going to be a bitch. If I do well this semester and next I may take five classes next fall. At this point, though, I don’t want to fuck up something good.
