So it rained and rained and rained and finally we left the route after some jerk cop came by and told us we weren’t allowed to keep our canopy up (we knew no tents were allowed, but no canopies?… while it’s freaking RAINING for God’s sake?).
Went back to Bobby’s, where we watched Kung Fu Hustle, ate Subway sandwiches and Carl’s Jr. burgers, and got progressively more disorderly and loud until I asked Bunny to bring me home. Ignoring the screaming and yelling, I read most of Don’t Get Mad, Get Even!: A Manual for Retaliation by Alan Abel (published in 198THREE), which was amusing and informative. I left without fanfare because I didn’t want a big deal to be made and I didn’t want everyone hugging me goodbye and giving me puppy eyes to stay.
So, here’re the stats.
Time on route: 6 1/2 hours (10 AM – 4:30 PM)
Number of people on route for any length of time: 7 (in order of time spent on route: Bunny, me, John, Lauren, Bobby, Steven, Andrey)
Time at Bobby’s: 5 hours (4:30 – 9:30 PM)
Number of people at Bobby’s: oh-man-a-ton.
Number of new people I met: 3 or 4
When I’m going to sleep: as soon as I can change my clothes and fall into bed
I should have a list of New Year’s resolutions up sometime this week, and info about when I’m coming back to school. Happy New Year, everyone.
