  1. Finally talking to Bennett about what he really wants from me regarding his depression and other troubles.
  2. Actually having deadlines (however tight) for all my papers.
  3. Yager, who brings me soup and oranges when I’m sick.
  4. Nail clippers, useful since I hate hangnails.
  5. Blank paper; it has so much potential.

No Child Left Behind??

Guess what, guys; there’s a loophole in the No Child Left Behind Act. States are helping schools exclude minority scores from standardized testing reports. In fact, nearly two million test scores have been left behind.

Aisha Jones, 6, concentrates on her reading homework at her home in Bolingbrook, Ill., Feb. 15, 2006. Though Aisha scored well on her annual tests, her mother, Toia Jones, a school teacher of 12 years, says she is concerned that a loophole in the No Child Left Behind Act is enabling states and schools to avoid taking concrete measures to eliminate an “achievement gap” between white and minority students. Can I just say something here? And I mean this in the best way possible… Dubya sucks.

Sin from my lips? O trespass sweetly urged! Give me my sin again. Love sought is good, but given unsought is better. If music be the food of love, play on. I am, for you, constant as the northern star. Come, let’s away to prison; we two alone will sing.

Good night, good night! Parting is such sweet sorrow.

Sonnet XVIII
Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimmed,
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature’s changing course untrimmed:
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st,
Nor shall death brag thou wander’st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow’st,
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

Effective deadlines for two of my four papers have been moved up! That means this week’s going to be killer! Also, my map quiz/test is scheduled for tomorrow!

Eng464

final paper, 10 pg, due May 2

His373
make-up map test, afternoon of April 18
document analysis #3, 2-3 pg, due April 17
debate position brief, 3-4 pg, due April 19
cartoon analysis, 5-6 pg, rough draft due April 24

His420
final paper, 12-14 pg, rough draft due April 24, final draft due May 2

New page count: 30-34
Days left until last paper is due: 2 weeks

Here’s the plan
Tonight: memorize countries/capitals of Latin America for map test!
Tomorrow: debate position brief
Wednesday: His420 final paper pg.1-5
Thursday: cartoon analysis
Friday: His420 final paper pg.6-10
Saturday: finish His420 final paper draft

Assuming all goes as it’s supposed to, I will only have to edit my cartoon analysis and His420 final paper and write my Eng464 final paper. This week’s hell week for me!
