Day One hundred ninety-three
by V.E. on September 27th, 2006
- Ordered a class ring and have committed to paying for it myself! (Yikes!)
- EXCELLENT discussion with Prof. Reitan this morning about my history methodology proposal…
- … which is going to be about Japanese pop culture (anime and Sailor Moon specifically)… ^_^ I’m such a nerd.
- NO HISTORY METHODOLOGY CLASS TODAY! OMFGYAYZORSBBQZ!
- Had a good talk with Josh and SAFC about getting money to bring B.D. Wong to campus for SME next semester.
Pay-per-Post: Meditation
by V.E. on September 27th, 2006
I recently ran across the Self Help Book called Simone and Elvis. It covers meditation to relieve stress and the site has a flash presentation to relax you (free of charge). Enjoy!

- I’m getting more responsible everyday… as long as I can keep track of everything I have to do!
- Didn’t go to work since I NEEDED to get some (home)work done. Hopefully, Marcy’s okay with that.
- I don’t feel intimidated by missing a class the way I used to. Which means I’m more likely to GO to the next class.
- Paid the first part (of three) of chapter dues (not including the partial scholarship I received from Grand Council, which covers a little over 15% of the total cost).
- Racist, sexist, and homophobic propaganda can be so ridiculous it’s funny.
(one of the) Stupidest Bill(s) EVER

Border Tunnel Prevention Act of 2006
09/21/2006, 109th Congress, 2nd Session
(U.S.) House (of Representatives) Roll Call No. 469
Passed: 422-0, 10 not voting
The House passed H.R. 4830, to amend chapter 27 of title 18, United States Code, to prohibit the unauthorized construction, financing, or reckless permitting (on one’s land) the construction or use of a tunnel or subterranean passageway between the United States and another country, by a yea-and-nay vote of 422 yeas with none voting “nay”, Roll No. 469.
Or, more simply: “The passage of this bill makes it a crime to construct an unauthorized tunnel across a U.S. international border.”
W.T.F. An “unauthorized tunnel“?!?! WHY do we need Congress to waste time on something like THIS? Are they complete DELIQUENTS?
Pay-per-Post: DealASite

At DealASite.com, people buy and sell domain names (and websites). Unlike buying/selling from/to someone you don’t even know on a forum, DealASite is a clean, concise database of “internet real estate”… A word of caution: the traders on this site are extremely skilled at what they do, so you should know what you’re doing, too. DealASite stresses its credibility, reliability, and authenticity–but, in the end, it’s always best to look for yourself.

- Went to my classes AND to work.
- Met with Prof. Zolov and have confirmed that he really DOES want to help students…
- … because, although he’s tough and (at times) intimidating, he CARES…
- … which makes me glad I didn’t listen to Yager when he told me not to take a class with Zolov.
- Congrats, first-year members of North Ben House (Ware College House) Parliament!
Pay-per-Post: Baby Clothing
by V.E. on September 25th, 2006

Some people have decided that babies will look better in cool baby clothes ah la Hollywood rocker style (such as the ones pictured). TinyRocker is a new clothing store for children based on the idea that [1] their baby clothing is NOT boring (unlike most other baby clothing), [2] their clothes impact babies in a positive way because they (babies, that is) learn from what they see, and [3] their clothes will make their little patrons “the coolest kids on the playground”.

After looking at the site for myself, I can definitely say that at least [1] is true. [2] and [3]??? Weeell, that’s a matter of taste. I personally do not think that my (theoretical) kid wearing a shirt that says “Illegitimate” or “For Sale By Owner” or has a picture of a “Baby AK-47″ on it is going to have a “positive influence” on the kid (or any OTHER kid, for that matter). And while those kinds of shirts may make the kid cool on the playground with the other kids, I doubt it will make ME cool with the other kids’ PARENTS. If the kid is 12 or 13 or older, there’s not much I can do about what they wear, but when they’re 6 months? I’M the one dressing him in the first place.
To be fair, I like the shirt that says “Stop Smelling My Head”…
