Superman: Red Son… What if Superman had landed in Russia (the U.S.S.R. at that time) instead of Smallville, USA?
Sexism in comics: Women in Refrigerators… named after the icky death of one of Kyle Rayner/Green Lantern’s love interests, Alex DeWitt.
A letter quiz

In which you comment, I give you a letter, and you write ten things you love that start with that letter.
sunnysides gave me O!
01. Ophelia. Poor girl shouldn’t have killed herself. I had a dream recently in which, instead of killing herself, she kicked Hamlet’s ass for being a jerk to her.
02. Microsoft Office. Don’t jump down my throat until I explain. Really, Microsoft is idiotic most of the time, but honestly, writing papers IS a lot easier with the delete key and formatting around to help me/you/whomever NOT mess up.
03. Opening snail mail. It’s like Christmas every day in the mailbox, even if it’s junk.
04. Obi-Wan Kenobi, also known as Ben Kenobi. Need I say more?
05. The Outsider, more commonly known as Alfred Pennyworth. Butler, caretaker, and general secret-keeper of Batman/Bruce Wayne and the Wayne Manor. Unfortunately, his superhero name is actually a villainous name, but it starts with an “O,” so it’ll do. Alfred is totally my favorite character ever.
06. Odds and ends. If you’ve ever seen any place I’ve lived for a reasonable amount of time, or have gone shopping with me, you know what I’m talking about.
07. Oxygen. Who DOESN’T love this? I mean, none of us would be around to love anything else without oxygen for survival.
08. Occam’s Razor. The theory that, when given two equally valid explanations for a phenomenon, one should embrace the less complicated formulation. Life, after all, tends to move from order to chaos, not the other way around. Plus, the simpler answer is usually easier to remember.
09. Obedience. >.> Err <.< I admit that this is an odd thing to love, but if you know my tastes, you should be able to discern what I mean. And, yes, I DO mean it on several levels of understanding.
10. Or…gasm…ing? C’mon, give me a break; I’m running out of ideas here… and you have to admit that it IS good when it happens.
Sheesh! That was a lot more difficult than I expected it would be. I would like to give out 26 letters, A through Z, so please please PLEASE comment on this post just for my benefit. Thanks.
