The Oscars

Holy frikin’ Jesus… Dead Man’s Chest actually WON something. As for the rest of the winners: I’ve seen Last King of Scotland, but only very recently; and I managed to catch some of The Queen on my flight from Los Angeles to Philly this past January before falling asleep. I haven’t seen any of the rest of them, including An Inconvenient Truth… Kudos to Al Gore for winning an Oscar, though… I never saw THAT coming.
Also, I didn’t bother watching the Academy Awards themselves, either. I’d much rather stick with Galactica.
252 #3: Finally doing something about some of my “To Do” list.

I’ve finally managed to cross off some of the things on my “To Do” list, although I still have a lot to do (unfortunately). I will be sending out my dad’s birthday present and some belated
holiday_wishes tomorrow morning. I printed out my reading for one of Tuesday’s classes and will be washing my clothes this evening. As soon as I finish this post I’ll be heading to the kitchen to wash the dishes and then sitting myself down in front of some late assignments to catch up and not feel overwhelmed tomorrow. Maybe, if I’m super lucky, the snow will force my professor to cancel class again. That’d be a Godsend, but I can’t count on it, so I’m going to try to do that homework, too, if I can manage it.
Ooooh… big news!

You all know by now that you can make money blogging via PayPerPost.com… but here’s some big news! PPP will soon be giving out free farm and zoo animals with every $1000 you make through them! Imagine the possibilities! You’ll be able to build up your animal collection with real, live zebras, monkeys, cows, horses, and more! You’ll be the talk of the town with all natural lawn-mowers and decorations. Your kids will no doubt be the envy of all their friends with a “pet” that can literally eat their pets (cute as those pets may be)!!
How can something like this go wrong? You may, of course, opt out of receiving a more dangerous and/or exotic animal, if that kind of thing scares you, and there are plenty of horses, ponies, and cows that need love, too! In any case, I thought you all should be the first to know that PPP’s big news is going to mean BIG news in the near future! When you’re out walking your new animal(s), make sure to bring a big pooper scooper.
Note: This is just a rumor and has no basis in actual facts or evidence, at least so far as I know.

Nightmare

I had a bad dream last night… well, last time I was sleeping… this past afternoon, I think. Anyway, I don’t remember much of it, just that I was in a convertible with my dad, who was driving, and I looked down at the pavement and we were about to run over Raggedy Anne (the doll I’ve had since I was two, in case you don’t already know). I screamed and reached down to grab her (I don’t know why or how I was able to reach down that far and not fall out) but my fingers grazed her without catching hold of her and then we drove past/over her. I turned around in my seat and screamed for my dad to go back so I could get her but he couldn’t hear me. I was desperate because I had this rock in the pit of my stomach that said that I’d never see her again if I didn’t go back right then to get her, but it was no use.
And then suddenly I was looking at a piece of paper on my desk and on it was all the schools I’ve applied to for grad school. Next to each name there was a big red stamp that read “REJECTED.” I started crying and was scared and I woke up sweating and feverish.
I’m afraid to go back to sleep. I have nightmares relatively often (every couple of weeks or so), but I don’t ever remember them… Remembering is worse.
EncycloCentral

[In case you're wondering, this is a paid post.]
EncycloCentral is an online encyclopedia that covers a wide range of topics and is fully search-able. Two links of interest (to me, anyway) are the entries for BiggerBooks and art museums… although they have much more as well… like, for example, golf instruction. Right now, the site has over 7,500 articles with more being added every day. EncycloCentral “provides unique, original and informative ‘How To’ content; much like Wikipedia in a non wiki format.” Each article has a link at the bottom that leads to a printer-friendly version, so you can print them out and carry them with you if you need to.

- The “I’m a Mac” ads make me laugh every time I watch them.
- That I’m not in Guatemala today. I can’t imagine what that’s like.
- Some (more) ways to make money online… not including eBay.
- The (currently far distant) hope that I may one day get a pilot’s license!
- Snail mail. Have I mentioned recently that I love snail mail??
