What Be Your Nerd Type?

Your Result: Literature Nerd

Does sitting by a nice cozy fire, with a cup of hot tea/chocolate, and a book you can read for hours even when your eyes grow red and dry and you look sort of scary sitting there with your insomniac appearance? Then you fit this category perfectly! You love the power of the written word and it’s eloquence; and you may like to read/write poetry or novels. You contribute to the smart people of today’s society, however you can probably be overly-critical of works.

It’s okay. I understand.

More on SEOs and ranking

SEO (search engine optimization) and search engine ranking are collectively a booming business in the internet bubble bursted world. I’ve had trouble with this kind of thing in the past… and will probably continue to have trouble with it as long as I bother myself with blogging. CustomerMagnetism.com (online at the link above or by phone at 1-866-798-3862) specializes in “search engine positioning”–which means you pay them to get people to go to your site. “Most websites,” they claim, “are only being used as… online brochure[s]” and “moving your website to the top of the search results within the major search engines will transform it into a powerful source of business development.” CustomerMagnetism.com breaks up the scary world of SEOs and ranking into three parts: natural listings, sponsored listings, and link building. Natural listings are free, like the ones NOT highlighted in blue in this example; sponsored listings ARE highlighted in blue (in this case, only one listing) and are always at the top of the results page. Link building is getting your site’s link onto other high-traffic sites. Obviously, this whole thing has become an art form. Good luck!

Vacations and Package Deals

I’m sure many of you have used, seen commercials for, or at least heard of travel websites like Travelocity and Expedia. Weeeeell, although some of those places offer to “bundle” your travel and accommodation together for “a cheaper [read: better] deal,” Hotel Reservations manages to outdo them all.

By using HotelReservations.com (referred to as “HR.com” from now on) instead of those other guys, you can save up to 70%–and they offer everything the other guys do… but more comprehensively. You can find bed and breakfasts, condo rentals, and discount club memberships in most of North America and Europe. Booking online is easy, but HR.com also has an 800 number (1-800-447-4136) and a European number (00-800-1276-3549) that is valid in UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Portugal, Switzerland, and Australia that you can use if you want to talk to a real, live person or you can’t find what you’re looking for. Their worldwide phone number is 1-817-333-5105.

Worried that HR.com isn’t for you? They have guaranteed lowest rates, vacation packages that include travel, group bookings (that is, nine or more rooms), and a unique destination guide that gives you “recommendations on attractions, restaurants, and hotels, and up-to-date weather, health tips, and general information for thousands of destinations” worldwide–all right at your fingertips! Common questions, like “Is the room rate per person or per night?” and “Is there a waiting list for sold-out hotels?,” are answered on the FAQ page.

Also, right now, HR.com has a rebate program good for up to $100 for stays booked by April 30 for travel through June 30. You can check out HotelReservations.com’s TV ad spot here; don’t worry about wasting your time–it’s only 30 seconds long. “For more than 6 years HotelReservations.com has been providing travelers great prices on the places you want to stay for both leisure and business travel.”
