Learning is important. When my grandparents’ parents were growing up, a high school education–if that–was all that was necessary to get along well in life. When my grandparents were growing up, having a high school diploma was more important than it had been for their parents. when my parents were growing up, a college education was a way to get ahead in the rat race. Now, while I’ve been growing up, it’s become increasingly difficult to find a decent job (I’m searching right now, as a matter of fact!) without at least a bachelor’s degree, if not more. Some companies don’t even bother looking at resumes without a masters and/or doctoral degree prominently placed in the “Education” section.
Knowing all that, what can you do if you can’t afford to just quit your current job to go back to school? What if there aren’t any good schools (or any schools, for that matter) near you? In that case, try e-learning with Capella University. Accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (www.ncahlc.org), Capella is an online university that offers graduate degree programs in business, information technology, education, human services, public safety, and psychology, and bachelors degree programs in business, information technology, and public safety.
