Vacation to South Padre Island

This August, my family and I are heading out to South Padre Island, Texas, to spend some time in the surf and the sun. (I hope it’s not as humid as last time I went there; it was nice, but when you walked out of the water at the beach, it was like you were still in the water because of the humidity… probably 100% or something. Is it possible to have more that 100% humidity?)
We’re taking the Amtrak train from Los Angeles Union Station to San Antonio. The trip is 30 hours, and then we’ll rent a car and head out to get my Grandma, and then down tot South Padre. A couple of cousins are coming as well, so it’s going to be like a mini-reunion. Too bad my aunt and her girlfriend aren’t coming.
We’re also going to see the dugout where my great great great grandfather grew up, in Floydada. Yay, history!
Hmm, I’m pretty sure Cleo is going to be mad at me for leaving her alone for two weeks straight.
