30-Day Poetry: 24

Day 24—Write a poem that’s different in some way from anything you’ve ever written. Take a chance! Be wild!

I have written so many poems

I have written
so many poems,
I can’t remember what
I’ve written or not.

I’ve written poems about poems,
verses about verses,
words about words.
They all flow into one another

in my mind—the poems I’ve written and
the poems I’ve read.
“Wild” is something I’ve been,
but not recently.

Recently, a more accurate description
word could be “anxious” or “stuck”—
taking a chance is so far off my radar
that it’s barely worth mentioning.
