“The Heartache Can Wait” lyrics

"The Heartache Can Wait" lyrics

SONG: The Heartache Can Wait
BY: Brandi Carlile

You’re talking about leaving
It’s right about Christmas time
Thinking about moving on
I think I might die inside

I’m thinking about years gone by
I’m thinking about church at midnight
I’m thinking about letting go
I think that might finally be all right
But this is where we shine

Silver bells and open fire
And songs we used to sing
One more chance to be inspired
Is what I’m offering if love is not enough
Then stay with me because
The heartache can wait

It’s not about hanging on
It’s making my deal with God
If I could call one last truce
We’ve given it all we’ve got

Then I’m gonna catch my breath
And make it a long December
If we’ve got nothing left
This could be worth remembering
With a smile upon my face

Silver bells and open fire
And songs we used to sing
One more chance to be inspired
Is what I’m offering if love is not enough
Then stay with me because

Silver bells and open fire
And songs we used to sing
One more chance to be inspired
Is what I’m offering if love is not enough
Then stay with me because
The heartache can wait

“Return to Me” lyrics

SONG: Return to Me
BY: October Project

You rise like a wave in the ocean,
and you fall gently back to the sea.
Now I want to know how to hold you:
return to me;
return to me.

You shine like the moon over water,
and you darken the sky when you leave.
Now I want to know how to keep you:
return to me;
return to me.

Turn to me;
return to me.

Everything I tell you has been spoken,
and everything I say was said before.
But everything I feel is for the first time,
and everything I feel I feel for you.

I am here calling the wind.
I am here calling your name.
I am here calling you back.
Return to me;
return to me.

I know what it means to be lonely,
and I know what it means to be free.
Now I want to know how to love you:
return to me;
return to me.

I am here calling the wind.
I am here calling your name.
I am here calling you back.
Return to me;
return to me.

I am here;
return to me.

“Angel of Music” lyrics

SONG: Angel of Music
FROM: The Phantom of the Opera

*Where in the world have you been hiding?
Really you were perfect.
I only wish I knew your secret,
Who is this new tutor?*

Father once spoke of an angel;
I used to dream he’d appear.
Now as I sing I can sense him,
And I know he’s here.

Here in this room, he calls me softly,
Somewhere inside, hiding.
Somehow I know, he’s always with me;
he’s the unseen genius.

*Christine, you must have been dreaming;
Stories like this can’t come true.
Christine, you’re talking in riddles,
And it’s not like you!*

Angel of music,
Guide and Guardian,
Grant to me you glory!

Angel of music,
Hide no longer,
Secret and strange angel.

“Bird on the Wire” lyrics

SONG: Bird on the Wire
BY: Leonard Cohen

Like a bird on the wire,
like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried, in my way, to be free.

Like a worm on a hook,
like a knight from some old fashioned book
I have saved all my ribbons for thee.

If I, if I have been unkind,
I hope that you can just let it go by.
If I, if I have been untrue
I hope you know it was never to you.

Like a baby, stillborn,
like a beast with his horn
I have torn everyone who reached out for me.

But I swear by this song
and by all that I have done wrong
I will make it all up to thee.

I saw a beggar leaning on his wooden crutch,
he said to me, “You must not ask for so much.”
And a pretty woman leaning in her darkened door,
she cried to me, “Hey, why not ask for more?”

Oh, like a bird on the wire,
like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried, in my way, to be free.

The Enchantress

Once upon a time, in a faraway land,
A young Prince lived in a shining castle.
Although he had everything his heart desired,
The Prince was spoiled, selfish, and unkind.
But then, one winter’s night,
An old beggar woman came to the castle
And offered him a single rose In return for shelter from the bitter cold.
Repulsed by her haggard appearance,
The Prince sneered at the gift,
And turned the old woman away.
But she warned him not to be deceived by appearances,
For Beauty is found within.
And when he dismissed her again,
The old woman’s ugliness melted away
To reveal a beautiful Enchantress.
The Prince tried to apologize, but it was too late,
For she had seen that there was no love in his heart.
And as punishment,
She transformed him into a hideous beast,
And placed a powerful spell on the castle,
And all who lived there.
Ashamed of his monstrous form,
The beast concealed himself inside his castle,
With a magic mirror as his only window to the outside world.
The Rose she had offered,
Was truly an enchanted rose,
Which would bloom for many years.
If he could learn to love another,
And earn her love in return
By the time the last petal fell,
Then the spell would be broken.
If not, he would be doomed to remain a beast
For all time.
As the years passed,
He fell into despair, and lost all hope,
For who could ever learn to love…a Beast?

“All Along the Watchtower” lyrics

SONG: All Along the Watchtower
BY: Bob Dylan

“There must be some way out of here,” said the joker to the thief,
“There’s too much confusion, I can’t get no relief.
Businessmen, they drink my wine, plowmen dig my earth,
None of them along the line know what any of it is worth.”

“No reason to get excited,” the thief, he kindly spoke,
“There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke.
But you and I, we’ve been through that, and this is not our fate,
So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late.”

All along the watchtower, princes kept the view
While all the women came and went, barefoot servants, too.

Outside in the distance a wildcat did growl,
Two riders were approaching, the wind began to howl.

“Fidelity” lyrics

SONG: Fidelity
BY: Regina Spektor

(Shook it up)

I never loved nobody fully
Always one foot on the ground
And by protecting my heart truly
I got lost in the sounds

I hear in my mind all of these voices
I hear in my mind all these words
I hear in my mind all this music

And it breaks my heart [x3]
When it breaks my heart

Suppose I never, ever met you
Suppose we never fell in love
Suppose I never, ever let you kiss me
so sweet and so soft

Suppose I never, ever saw you
Suppose you never, ever called
Suppose I kept on singing love songs
just to break my own fall

Just to break my fall [x3]
Break my fall
Break my fall

All my friends say that of course it’s gonna get better
Gonna get better
Better [x7]

I never loved nobody fully
Always one foot on the ground
And by protecting my heart truly
I got lost in the sounds

I hear in my mind all these voices
I hear in my mind all these words
I hear in my mind all of this music

And it breaks my heart
And it breaks my heart

I hear in my mind all of these voices
I hear in my mind all these words
I hear in my mind all of this music

And it breaks my heart [x3]
When it breaks my heart
But it breaks my heart
When it breaks my heart
Breaks my heart
And it breaks my heart [x4]
