OMG I made it!

Wow! I managed to stay awake for 24 hours, blogging every half hour. (Well, roughly every half hour. I bent the rules a little bit here and there because I was going to just fall over with tiredness.)

Thanks to all my readers and especially my monitor, Tina, who cheered me on from the very beginning! Sorry about the glitches just after starting, but I managed to get everything up and running, and I had a great time.

This is going on my “want to attempt every year” list along with BEDA and NaNoWriMo. Thankfully, these three events are spaced through out the calendar year well, so I’m not overwhelmed by all three at once. ^_^;;

I had something else I wanted to mention, but I’ve forgotten it. If I remember, I’ll post again after waking up later today.

Let’s do it again next year. ^_^

Day Three hundred nine

If you’d like to know the history of “Five Reasons I Should Be Happy Today”… click here. It’s a simple idea, but one that I haven’t done in a long time, so I’m putting an entry here as a Blogathon post. Two birds with one stone and all that, or something. ^_^

  1. Completing this Blogathon—my first ever—with only a few minor glitches!
  2. Being able to (shower and then) sleep after the next post; finally!
  3. Making a good dinner yesterday that was filling and healthy.
  4. Finding a decent present for Johnny’s birthday.
  5. Checking in with my professor on Friday for the third week in a row.

Thanks to my sponsors!

Over the course of this Blogathon, I’ve gotten three sponsors!

anon #1
anon #2

Thank you so so so SO much for sponsoring me this year, you three! It really helped me keep going when I was (am! lol) feeling sick or exhausted.

I earned a total of $25.00 for The Sex Workers Project!

Since I wasn’t really expecting to have any sponsors at all, $25 is an enormous improvement!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Two more posts (one more hour!) and I’m off the clock. I’m excited for sleep. ^_^

Your first dawn blinded you, left you cursing the day

There’s no place to hide, but I don’t think I’m scared.

I was just sponsored again! Thanks very much, guys! It’s keeping me going down to the last bit. (I’ve come this far, so why not, right?)

Music has the power to move mountains. I can do two things well, if nothing else: write and sing. I’m sure the people around me would assure me that I can do other things as well, too, but this I know for sure: I can write, and I can sing. I’m probably not the Best or the Greatest, but all those guys have time on their side, so you never know. ^_^

In singing, I know, at least, that I’m on pitch. I can even sing with other people and hold my own part. Because I’m feeling brave (<_< ... ... >_>) I’m uploading an a capella piece I sang earlier this year. (Chamber Singers also sang it my senior year in high school in SATB; I’m singing the alto part.)

A Glimpse of Snow and Evergreen, composed by Vijay Singh

Let me know what you think! I’m a bit self-conscious singing alone for an audience (even an internet audience!), so be gentle with criticism. ^_^;;

Much Ado About Nothing

I’m obviously tired by this point, and my post titles are getting somewhat ridiculous. (The theory that I’m writing stupid titles because I’m tired is pretty much shot to pieces, though, because I came up with a lot of these titles on Friday evening and before the thon started yesterday morning… Maybe I knew I’d be tired?)

Right wrist

slender, the hand with which i write.
freckles move up my arm;
veins, down to my fingers.
scars on the inside of my wrist.
two on either side of center,
just missing a main artery,
crawl toward my elbow from my palm.
a third, small and round
on the right of my upturned wrist
from leaning on a hot stove
when I was twelve.

My cat is acting strange(r than normal). I’m thinking she just discovered she’s nocturnal. >_>

My life according to Elton John

Hahaha; I was actually early on my last post and I don’t need to post this until 3 am! Yay, I’m still on track.

Stolen from a friend on Facebook. I inadvertently picked an artist who has about a million [coughhyperbolecough] songs out, so it wasn’t super hard in my case. ^_^;;

Using only song names from ONE ARTIST, cleverly answer these questions. Try not to repeat a song title. It’s a lot harder than you think! Post as “my life according to (band name)”
